Overnight oats are one of my favourite breakfast treats although I don’t make them that often. Usually I make them with some raisins and cinnamon, but yesterday I thought hmmm let’s put some peanut butter in these and then i thought about the chocolate chips I had bought the day before. What I didn’t think about is that the oats would be hot and the chocolate chips melted when I stirred them in, which equals overnight oats that taste like no bake cookies.
How to make overnight oats:
1/3 cup of steel cut oats
2/3 cup of milk (I use whole milk because it’s delicious – alternately you can use 1/3 cup of milk and 1/3 cup of greek yogurt)
Stir together in a container that has a lid (I like to use mason jars or tupperware depending on what’s clean, you can also reuse an old peanut butter jar)
Put in fridge overnight. enjoy in the morning, add whatever fixin’s you want!
